About

Community Breakfast in New Providence, Iowa started because the town lost their cafe, and there wasn't a place to come together as a community anymore.  Convinced that this was a need that could be addressed, they started holding breakfast one Monday a month.  When people had a tough time remembering which Monday that was, they changed it to every Monday morning.  It draws people from several neighboring communities also.  The building is on West Main Street just down from the oldest hardware store in Iowa.  The meeting site doubles as a community museum of sorts with pictures and artifacts with explanations of New Providence's rich Quaker heritage.  The building itself is an artifact also.  It has a vintage soda fountain counter, built in booth and cabinets, heirloom ceiling fans and bathroom sink, etc.  It is always decorated to the current season contributing to the festive joy that is Community Breakfast!  Join us, will you?
